Cooperstown is located in central New York State, 70 miles west of Albany and 30 miles south of the New York State Thruway.

From the west, use Thruway Exit 30 at Herkimer and take Route 28 south

From the east, use Thruway Exit 25A to I-88; take Exit 24 to Route 20 west and Route 80 south

From the south, use I-88 to Exit 17 and Route 28 north

From the southeast, use Thruway Exit 21 (Catskill), to Routes 23 west, 145 west, 20 west, and 80 south
